Still filing away charts and printing numerous forms?Scanning takes too much time? Want to reduce your malpractice exposure?
DentForms is the missing link to the paperless office!Create reliable record keeping with digital signatures!Reduce supply cost and boost productivity!Easy to use, your staff will love the simplicity
MedicTalk DentForms Solutions [1].
I like this as an alternative to PT Dental which offers a similar product.

SlimKey-MD Medical Keyboards, AquaPoint Waterproof Mouse

November 20th, 2006 · No Comments

SlimKey-MD Medical Keyboards, [1]

The SK-101-FL medical keyboard has both backlighting and a large numeric pad. Resistant to dust, water and corrosive liquids, the SLK-101-FL is constructed using a fully sealed, industrial silicone keypad. Its low-profile keys provide for easy cleaning/disinfecting by eliminating the difficult to clean spaces of office-grade keyboards. All SlimKey-MD medical keyboards are compatible with any commonly used hospital cleaning agent. For space saving, the SLK-101 medical keyboard is housed in a compact ABS polycarbonate case.
I learned about the keyboards and other products from Linda Holder. Linda is a certified Softdent trainer.

Kodak and Iluma

November 12th, 2006 · No Comments

I just got back from the Kodak Users meeting in Atlanta. These meetings are a tremendous resource for dentists using the various Kodak dental products. If you have not attended a meeting in the past you should plan on going next year. These meetings are great for both the dentist and the dental team.

There were a number of new products on display. These included the newest version 12 of Softdent, The new redesigned 6100 radiography sensors with the cord in the back and the amazing cone beam CT Iluma [2]. Cone Beam CT must be seen to be appreciated. It has already revolutionized implant placement and is now being used in Ortho. Eventually I believe this technology will dominate all of the diagnostic radiography we use in dentistry.

DentFormsâ„¢

August 31st, 2006 · No Comments

Look here for more information The Dental Record • Paperless via MedicTalk DentForms™ [1]

For offices using Practice Management software such as Dentrix, EagleSoft, and SoftDent, paper forms and data transcription have remained necessary steps to maintain complete electronic recordkeeping—but no longer!
I have tried this product, Dent Forms, and a newer version called PT Dental. The concept is fantastic. This is the final piece to a paperless record. Dentforms works, but is not real flashy. PT Dental is flashier has more features but I have not been able to make it work consistently and can’t recommend it yet.

BSOD returns with a vengeance!

April 28th, 2006 · No Comments

After you install SP1, applications don’t start correctly, or hang, and the system starts blue screening often (several times a week, up to daily). Sometimes the Blue Screen of Death BSOD occurs when the nightly backup is running, sometimes when it completes. Occasionally the system might just reboot for no reason.

This post applies to SoftDent, EagleSoft, Dentrix, MediaDent, Dentech, EasyDental, PracticeWorks, and very probably every Windows based Dental Practice Management product that runs on Windows 2003 server.
