My visit to CRA

January 1st, 2006 · No Comments

KankaI visited CRA on December 8th and did some testing with the CRA staff and Gordon Christensen. We tested Simplicity, Surpass and Interface.

Simplicity is a two bottle no-rinse adhesive system, Surpass is a 3 bottle no-rinse adhesive system, and Interface is a porcelain/enamel/dentin primer.

We got 31 mPa immediate bond strength for Simplicity, and 51 mPa at one hour after storage in water at 61 degrees C.

Upon testing Interface and Simplicity 2 on VMK II porcelain, the porcelain failed cohesively even upon immediate testing. Bond strengths to porcelain develop immediately. Interface can be used in place of Simplicity 1 when porcelain has to be repaired and there is tooth structure adjacent to the repair.

Interface does not require the use of hydrofluoric acid.

I would like to say that Gordon and the CRA staff were very cordial and receptive and I appreciate the time that they took to spend with Dr. Greitzer and me.
