Chairside CAD/CAM

April 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Chairside CAD/CAM continues to become a very interesting technology for the restorative dentist. My office uses CEREC and E4D, and currently I prefer the E4D because the software and laser scan makes nicely fitting restorations. A practice should really be doing about 12-20 units/month to justify the cost of chairside over lab-fabricated restorations. This threshold makes the investment a money-saving one. It is also wise to train auxiliaries to help so that the dentist can decrease chair time with the patient.
